What I liked the most about this picture is the combination of colors: Green from the above and the sides, and brown from down and the left.
However, the asymmetry (thick trunks to the left and thin branches to the right) made me focus on the left part of the picture (the fence and "darker" colors might have influenced me too), as well as the non-centered path.
And I tend to agree with *ShesABromide about "the image being washed out or tinted with a colour".
As a great fan of green, I have to say I love the vividness of the color and how it meshes very well with the browns and yellows. I do have to agree with *ShesABromide about the fence, and want to add something else: I think the gap of empty air between the far left edge of the frame and the first tree is rather distracting, so perhaps a shot like this would leave that out. Other than that, though, I think the overall photo is wonderful, especially the way the path bends off in the distance. It reminds me of a journey waiting to happen. Wonderful shot.
I never realised that gap until reading your feedback. Thank you very much, in future I'll try to avoid problems like that by doing more shots from different points. Thank you
First off, this was a fantastic location to choose. The canopy that the tree branches form is gorgeous and really make this piece so much more atmospheric, so kudos on the location The only drawback about the scene is potentially the fence, which looks as if it's cutting off part of the scene or blocking some scenery. I'd suggest next time taking a few photos from different angles; getting closer to the fence but aiming away from it should help cut some of it out while preserving the trees and trail The natural lighting works very well here, so you've obviously chosen a good time to photograph the scene The trees are softly illuminated in a bright light without any harsh shadows. I do like the brightness and intensity of the green here, but be careful to avoid the image being washed out or tinted with a colour. Some of the natural warm tones in the bark would have been nice to have as well to complete the scene. Overall, it's a very nice capture As a side note, I see you have information about using this image in the artist comments Is this meant as a stock image as well? It may get more attention under the "stock" category if that's the case
Thank's a lot for your feedback. You're right, next time I'll try some different angles to avoid losing attention to the fence (ore other disturbing objects). I actually wasn't out to take photos because I wanted to go geocaching in the part of the city around my flat but I got overwhelmed by the green trees and the way they got illuminated by the sun, so I stopped and took some pictures.
Hmm, most of my pictures are licensed with CC-BY-SA, so they can get used but if they get used to create new work, the new work has to be also licensed under CC-BY-SA. So everyone can use or even sell it but hast to give the same right to others if he does a changed version. I don't know if an image licensed under CC-BY-SA would be welcome in stock directory.
Ahh I see I'm unfamillair with most stock policy, so yeah And in that case this is pretty wonderful for a spontaneous photo I might sound like an old woman asking this, not hip to the jive of you young people, but what is "geocaching"?
